Recently, the results of the 2022 Metallurgical Science and Technology Award were officially announced to the public. The project "Basic Research and Engineering Application of Nanophase Deep Hydrogen Traps in High Strength and Tough Steels" jointly carried out by Wuhan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. and Beijing University of Science and Technology was listed, and won the first prize of the 2022 Metallurgical Science and Technology Award of China Iron and Steel Industry Association and China Metallurgical Society. The development and application of this technology has laid a solid technical foundation for Wugang to further expand the development and promotion of large thickness offshore engineering, hydrogen storage tanks and related hydrogen crack resistant steels.
It is reported that the Metallurgical Science and Technology Award is the highest science and technology award in the iron and steel industry jointly established by the China Iron and Steel Industry Association and the China Metallurgical Society and officially approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. It aims to promote scientific and technological progress and innovation in the metallurgical industry, and encourage the use of scientific and technological forces to promote the development of the metallurgical industry. It is reviewed and awarded once a year.
