9Ni steel plate of Wugang Company of Hegang Group passed the certification and inspection of Japan Classification Society

On August 5, the marine ultra-low temperature toughness steel 9Ni developed by Wugang Company of Hegang Group successfully passed the certification and inspection of Japan Classification Society, and obtained the "pass" to enter the Japanese market, marking Wugang's new breakthrough in the field of 9Ni steel market development.
With the increasingly strict requirements of the state on environmental protection, ship transportation needs a cleaner power system. Therefore, the demand for more environmentally friendly LNG power ships is gradually increasing. As the spare steel for LNG storage tanks, 9Ni steel plates will be widely used in the production and manufacturing of LNG power ships. Wuyang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. further promoted the optimization of "two structures", aimed at high-end customers and cutting-edge market demands, deeply connected with national key projects, gave full play to its technological leadership in the field of ultra-low temperature steel, and vigorously developed high-grade materials. Previously, Wugang 9Ni steel plate has been certified by 7 classification societies, including CCS, ABS and DNV, and has also obtained the production certification qualification of ASTMA553/ASMESA553/EN10028 recognized by American Classification Society. In order to further expand the 9Ni steel plate market and expand the order quantity, Wugang Company urgently needs to expand the certification scope of the classification society.
The Nippon Classification Society has always been known for its strict requirements for steel plates and review of relevant materials. In order to ensure the successful passing of the certification by the Japan Classification Society, during the research and development process, Wugang increased its technical upgrading efforts, innovatively designed the composition system of the steel, boldly adopted new steelmaking and rolling processes, overcame many common technical problems in the smelting and rolling process of nickel series low temperature steel, and ensured that the flaw detection qualification rate of more than 6000 tons of 9Ni steel plate reached 100%. In the process of certification, Wugang Company gave full play to its technical advantages, first carried out on-site simulation certification, and coordinated to solve various problems that may occur in the certification process in advance, providing strong technical support for passing the certification inspection of the Japan Classification Society with high quality and efficiency.
