On September 24, Lu Jiangguang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Wugang Company under Hebei Iron and Steel Group, presided over a study session of the company’s Party Committee Theoretical Study Center Group. He emphasized the need to deeply study and thoroughly grasp the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches, instructions, and directives, comprehensively strengthening ideological, political, and practical awareness in their implementation. He called for maintaining a proactive and determined stance in tackling tough challenges, concentrating efforts on advancing the “three transformations,” bolstering development momentum, and solidifying the foundation of special steel through innovation and reform, thereby striving to deliver a new chapter of high-quality development for Wugang.
Members of the Wugang Company Party Committee’s Theoretical Study Center Group attended the meeting. Assistants to the General Manager, deputy chief engineers, and responsible officials from the Party and mass work departments also attended as non-voting participants.
At the meeting, members of the Party Committee’s central study group at Wugang Company collectively studied the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on developing advanced manufacturing, as well as the key points of his important address delivered during the second phase of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Meeting. They also reviewed General Secretary Xi Jinping’s significant speeches and important instructions regarding Hebei Province and HBIS Group since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, along with his important remarks on strengthening national defense education for all citizens.
Lu Jiangguang emphasized the need to forge an unshakable ideological core, maintain a firm political compass, and strengthen our sense of mission and responsibility through in-depth study and thorough understanding. We must deeply study and meticulously grasp the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and key instructions, anchoring ourselves in the correct direction and resolutely pressing forward with courage. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has personally visited Hebei on 12 occasions, delivering numerous important speeches and issuing critical directives. He has shown great concern for HBIS Group and placed high expectations on it, visiting HBIS Steel and delivering significant addresses, as well as writing back to the company’s employees. As a leading special‑steel enterprise under the HBIS Group, Wugang must profoundly appreciate General Secretary Xi Jinping’s care and guidance, firmly uphold the “two establishments,” resolutely practice the “two safeguards,” and comprehensively enhance our conscious awareness—intellectually, politically, and operationally—of implementing his directives. We must adhere to “one central thread,” stay committed to “one path,” break through in four key areas, and strive to achieve “four utmost standards,” thereby writing a new chapter of high‑quality development for Wugang.
Lu Jiangguang emphasized the need to concentrate on advancing the “three transformations” to bolster development momentum and solidify the foundation of the special steel sector through innovation and reform. As a vital pillar of the national economy, the steel industry must fully serve as a stabilizing force, adopting an integrated approach to intelligent, green, and convergent development. It is essential to deeply recognize the organic unity of these three dimensions, continuously invest in artificial intelligence, the digital economy, smart manufacturing, and talent cultivation, and promote the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation. Tailoring strategies to local conditions, the industry should foster new‑type productive forces, steadily strengthen its core functions, and enhance its competitive edge. Furthermore, we must persistently drive the transformation of products from raw‑material grade to material grade and of enterprises from mere steel manufacturers to leaders in providing critical material solutions. Upholding systems thinking, we will comprehensively upgrade corporate management and operations, focus on implementing the “four extremes,” and continually fortify the company’s core competitiveness and capacity for sustainable development, striving to build the most competitive, leading enterprise in the wide‑and‑thick plate sector.
Lu Jiangguang emphasized the need to uphold a spirit of relentless striving, bolster our resolve to tackle tough challenges, and sprint toward achieving this year’s goals through benchmarking and continuous improvement. Leaders at all levels must maintain an unwavering commitment to overcoming obstacles and pressing forward, staying focused on delivering on our annual business objectives. We will continue to consolidate and expand the gains from education and training on cultivating and practicing a correct view of political achievements, fully leveraging the exemplary role of leadership teams and individual leaders.
