On the afternoon of June 5, Lu Jiangguang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Wugang Company, led a delegation to visit a key customer in the high-end energy equipment manufacturing sector. The two sides held a symposium to discuss deepening industrial-chain collaboration, expanding areas of cooperation, and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of their partnership. Relevant heads from Wugang’s Market Management Department, Sales Department, and Science & Technology Department attended the visit and exchange.

The client’s senior leadership extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Lu Jiangguang. He emphasized: “We have long been deeply engaged in high‑end sectors such as nuclear power, thermal power, wind power, hydrogen energy storage, and rail transit, with extensive development plans and significant market potential in the field of advanced equipment manufacturing. Since the two parties embarked on in-depth cooperation and jointly achieved breakthroughs in the domestic substitution of high‑end steel plates, our business scope has expanded to key domestic and international energy‑equipment projects—including nuclear power, thermal power, and offshore engineering—covering a wide variety of steel grades and complete specifications. Over the years, Wugang Company has laid a solid material foundation for the smooth progress of major projects through its superior product quality, reliable supply capabilities, and professional service support. We look forward to further strengthening communication and collaboration between the two sides, continuously reinforcing the groundwork for complementary partnerships.”

Lu Jiangguang expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the customer for their longstanding trust and support of Wugang Company. He noted that, as a leading domestic producer of wide and thick plates, Wugang focuses on high-end steel markets such as nuclear power, wind energy, petrochemicals, and offshore engineering equipment. The company has continuously advanced the upgrading and iteration of its production-line equipment, developed core capabilities in continuous casting of 460‑mm‑thick plates, and established a stable supply of ultra‑thick, high‑purity specialty steel products—many of which have been successfully deployed in major national projects. He emphasized that Wugang remains committed to placing customer needs at the forefront, continually optimizing its manufacturing processes, enhancing product quality, and refining its end-to-end service‑support system covering pre‑sale, in‑sale, and after‑sale phases. In doing so, the company strives to provide upstream and downstream partners with high‑quality, highly reliable integrated solutions, helping customers achieve efficient project implementation and improved performance and efficiency in their energy‑related equipment initiatives.

This visit and exchange has established an efficient platform for industrial matchmaking and supply‑demand coordination, further strengthening mutual trust and building a shared vision for development. Moving forward, the two parties will leverage their respective industrial, technological, and resource strengths, focusing on emerging sectors such as offshore wind power, nuclear power, and energy storage. They will work together to overcome technical challenges in high‑end steel applications, jointly expand both domestic and international markets for advanced energy‑related equipment, and achieve complementary advantages and mutually beneficial outcomes.

Wugang Company’s project, “Development and Application of Key Technologies for High-Strength, Tough, Extra-Thick Steel Plates for Marine Equipment,” has been awarded the Special Prize of the 2026 Metallurgical Science and Technology Award.

Recently, the results of the 2026 Metallurgical Science and Technology Awards were announced. The project “Development and Application of Key Technologies for High-Strength, Tough, Extra-Thick Steel Plates for Marine Equipment,” jointly submitted by Wugang Company and Northeastern University, was awarded the Grand Prize, marking a major breakthrough for China in the field of critical materials for marine engineering. After ten years of intensive research and sustained efforts, the project has successfully overcome the challenges in producing high-strength, tough, extra-thick steel plates—materials essential for building such national strategic assets as ultra-large deepwater drilling platforms, massive wind‑farm installation vessels, and 10,000‑meter‑class submersibles.
