On March 26, Liu Jian, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Group, held a symposium with Gao Hongbin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Iron & Steel Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CIRI), at the HBIS R&D Center, aiming to deepen collaborative efforts between the industrial chain and the innovation chain, jointly support national strategies, and promote high-quality development of the steel industry.
Lin Zhangguo, Deputy General Manager of the Group, Lin Cunzeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of China Iron & Steel Research Institute, and Zhao Dongliang, Member of the Party Committee Standing Committee and Deputy General Manager of China Iron & Steel Research Institute, attended the symposium.
Liu Jian welcomed the visit of Gao Hongbin and his delegation, and provided an overview of the Group’s initiatives to pursue high-end, intelligent, and green development. He noted that over the years, HBIS Group has maintained a strong and cooperative relationship with China Iron & Steel Research Institute, advancing mutually beneficial development through pragmatic collaboration. The 15th Five-Year Plan period represents a pivotal phase for HBIS as it transitions from “scale leadership” to “value-driven leadership.” To this end, HBIS will steadfastly implement its innovation-driven development strategy, deeply integrate technological innovation with industrial innovation, and continuously enhance both its business performance and core competitiveness. China Iron & Steel Research Institute is the largest comprehensive research, development, and high-tech industrialization institution in China’s metallurgical sector. It is hoped that the two parties will further deepen their multi-dimensional innovation cooperation, fully leverage their respective strengths, promote joint research on technologies and shared utilization of research outcomes, and make greater contributions to serving national strategies and jointly driving the transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development of the steel industry.
Gao Hongbin outlined the development direction of China Iron & Steel Research Institute during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. He stated that CIRS has maintained close communication and collaboration with HBIS Group, and that the jointly advanced project on process optimization and intelligent operations at Tangsteel New Area has become a benchmark for smart manufacturing in the steel industry, leading the sector’s transformation toward intelligent production and high-quality development. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, CIRS will stay true to its core responsibilities and main business, leverage its strengths, strengthen synergy, and strive to deliver higher-quality scientific and technological services. In areas such as steel materials R&D, smart manufacturing, green and low-carbon technologies, and talent development, CIRS and HBIS Group have ample opportunities for collaborative efforts. In light of major national strategies and the evolving needs of the steel industry, it is hoped that the two parties will join forces to deepen systematic innovation cooperation, promote the industrial application and engineering implementation of innovative solutions, and share the technological achievements and economic value generated by future development.
During the visit, Gao Hongbin and his delegation toured the HBIS Materials Technology Exhibition Hall. The two sides then each presented updates on their respective innovation initiatives and engaged in in-depth exchanges to further strengthen practical cooperation.
Directors from Hebei Iron and Steel Group, heads of the Hebei Iron and Steel Materials Research Institute and Hebei Iron and Steel Digital, as well as technical experts and office directors from the China Iron & Steel Research Institute and relevant officials from the China Iron & Steel Research Institute attended the symposium and exchange.

On March 18, Lu Jiangguang, General Manager of Wugang Company under Hebei Iron and Steel Group, led a delegation on a visit to a leading enterprise in the petrochemical engineering construction sector. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the localization of petrochemical equipment materials, technological innovation, and long-term cooperation. Long Jie, Deputy General Manager of Wugang Company, accompanied the delegation, and relevant heads from the Sales Department, the Science and Technology Department, and the Market Management Department also participated in the visit.
On March 23, Lu Jiangguang, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Wugang Company under Hebei Iron and Steel Group, chaired a special study and discussion session of the company’s Party Committee Theoretical Study Center. He emphasized the need to elevate political awareness, resolutely and effectively implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee as well as the requirements set forth at the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and Group meeting on studying and implementing the spirit of the Two Sessions, and demonstrate unwavering support for the “two establishments” and firm commitment to the “two safeguards” through concrete actions. It is imperative to meticulously plan and deploy all tasks related to study and education, ensuring their thorough and effective execution. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on securing materials for core equipment used in coal-to-oil production, fostering collaborative technological innovation, advancing the implementation of major projects, and promoting green and low-carbon transformation. Long Jie, Deputy General Manager of Wugang Company, accompanied the delegation, while representatives from the Sales Department, the Science and Technology Department, and the Market Management Department also took part in the visit.
