The warm spring breeze brings forth new vitality and renewal. At 9:00 a.m. on February 25, 2026—the ninth day of the first lunar month—Hebei Iron and Steel Group Wugang Company held its 2025 Advanced Commendation Conference in grand style at the Convention and Exhibition Center. More than 120 people, including all members of Wugang’s leadership team, chief officials from various units’ Party and administrative departments, representatives of the “Four Ultimate” Vanguard Teams, model workers, March 8th Red Banner holders, and some deputy middle-level managers, gathered together to jointly witness this moment of honor.

Lu Jianguang, General Manager of Wugang Company, delivered a speech at the meeting. Lu Jianguang pointed out that over the past year, Wugang Company has thoroughly implemented the Group’s strategic decisions and deployments, taking the “Four Ultimate” approach as its guiding principle and adhering to performance-oriented and lean management. Lu Jianguang emphasized that 2026 will be a year full of both hope and challenges. Third, adopt refined management practices to improve professional capabilities.

Lu Jianguang emphasized the need to focus on “four extremes,” make every effort to overcome challenges, and solidify our survival foundation and enhance our competitive edge through quality improvement and efficiency enhancement. First, we must focus on achieving extreme cost reduction and deepening benchmarking and potential exploration. We should embrace the philosophy that “all costs can—and must—be reduced,” consistently conduct systematic benchmarking to identify gaps, and resolutely achieve the “three 100” targets. Second, we must focus on achieving extreme efficiency and make every possible effort to reach new historical highs. Third, we must focus on achieving extreme energy efficiency and strengthen our foundational energy management. Fourth, we must focus on building an extreme brand by synergizing production, sales, research, and operations.

Lu Jianguang emphasized the need to accelerate the green transition, promote intelligent manufacturing, and forge competitive advantages and expand growth opportunities during enterprise transformation and upgrading. First, we must address equipment shortcomings and weaknesses to empower the intelligent upgrade of production lines. Second, we should speed up efforts to achieve Environmental Protection Grade A certification and set a benchmark for clean production. Third, we must integrate into the dual-carbon development strategy and build a green, low-carbon system.

Lu Jianguang emphasized the need to firmly maintain confidence in development, hone a robust work ethic, and pool our collective efforts through co-construction and shared benefits to create a bright future. First, we must remain steadfast in our confidence and break through challenges with practical action. Second, we must stay true to our original aspirations and bring tangible benefits to our employees. Third, we must be performance-oriented and ensure strict adherence to commitments.

Lu Jianguang emphasized that the goals and tasks for 2026 have already been clearly defined; the key lies in practical action and effective implementation. The meeting was chaired by Hu Jun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Trade Union. Gao Zhen and Yin Guojun, Deputy General Managers of the company, respectively read out the decisions of the Party Committee and the company regarding the recognition of outstanding teams and individuals for 2025, as well as the decisions on awarding prizes to units that have demonstrated outstanding performance in tapping potential and enhancing efficiency, units that have made significant progress in management improvement, and “Four Ultimate” Pioneer Teams.
