HBIS Wugang Company is China's wide and thick steel plate production and scientific research base, China's important wide and thick steel plate localization alternative import base. The total assets are 13.2 billion yuan, and the employees are nearly 10,000. It has an annual output of 5 million tons of steel, 3 million tons of wide and thick steel plates, and a comprehensive strength of more than 10 billion yuan in sales revenue.
Wugang Company is the cradle of China's wide and thick plate industry, with excellent high-end wide and thick steel plate technology research and development and manufacturing capabilities. The main equipment includes 1260m3 blast furnace and 120T converter, 3 100T ultra-high power electric furnaces, 11 molten steel refining and vacuum treatment facilities, 9 large steel ingot mold casting lines, one 300×1900mm slab continuous casting machine, two 300×2500mm slab continuous casting machines, one 4100mm+4100mm double frame wide plate rolling mill and one 4200mm+4300mm double frame wide and thick plate rolling mill. It has complete supporting steel plate heat treatment facilities and advanced scientific research and testing equipment in China's wide and thick steel plate industry.
For more than 40 years, Wugang Company has firmly adhered to the road of special steel, insisted on making high-end and high-quality products, and laid a special and important position in China's wide and thick steel plate industry. Wugang Company leads the industry and presides over the formulation of nine national standards, including steel plates for building structures, chromium-molybdenum alloy steel plates for hydrogen equipment, steel plates for self-jacking platform pile legs, carbon steel and low-alloy steel plates for nuclear power plants, high-strength wear-resistant steel plates for construction machinery, wide and thick steel plates for oil and gas transmission pipelines, and steel plates with thickness directional performance.
Among the 16 series and more than 350 grades of products of Wugang Company, more than 220 have replaced imports or adopted foreign standards for production, and more than 60 varieties have been exported to developed countries and regions such as the United States, Germany and Japan. Products are widely used in major national projects and major technical equipment. The 110mm thick Q460E-Z35 steel plate specially developed and produced for the National Stadium, the main venue of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, has realized the localization of all the steel used in the "Bird's Nest", which has been highly praised by all walks of life. It has played a key role in the National Aircraft Project, the Three Gorges Project, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the expansion of Beijing Capital Airport, the National Centre for the Performing Arts, the new site of CCTV, the national strategic petrochemical project, and the manned space industry.
